Unit n | نْ is a multidisciplinary, international team bringing together architecture, design, technical expertise, and craftsmanship.

Founded by Ali Swaid, a Palestinian-Syrian architect with a Master’s degree in Architecture & Environment from Algeria, the company was built on the belief that renovation should go beyond construction.

Our diverse backgrounds bring different perspectives to every project, while one shared approach connects us: thoughtful design, practical solutions, and careful execution.

We don’t just renovate spaces. We rethink them.

Ali Moutaz Swaid is also the founder of Stichting AaRDE, which provides workshops in design and architecture upskilling.

Getting started is simple. Reach out through our contact form or schedule a call—we’ll walk you through the next steps and answer any questions along the way.

What budgets do you work with?

It differs per project and requirement. We’ve had clients asking for small adjustments such as opening a wall with an arch, changing a sink, or for a paint job. Those are budgeted at a completely different scale than a 6-month project.

How long do full renovations take?

This really depends on the nature of your house, the year it was built, its maintenance over the years, and, of course, your wishes for the house. We’d love to visit you and discuss all the details, and work together on a custom plan and ways of working.

Can I hire my own architect?

Yes! Some of our clients have an existing architect. We’re happy to collaborate.

What about permits for the municipality?

You are required to submit permits for some renovation projects. Our teams will make sure to file permits for parking on the street or waste storage throughout the duration of the project. However, some additional permits might be required for other parts of the renovation which you will need to apply yourself at your respective municipality.
